In the quest of finding the perfect Chicken Strips; a popular appetizer, Forever17mag along with two food bloggers; Feast Karachi and Ieattin, visited several restaurants. Chicken strips at the shortlisted restaurants were rated on the basis of taste, serving size, appearance and value for money. In addition, staff representation and greeting style along with the ambiance of the restaurant was also taken in account. Our ranking is as follow:
Note: All chicken strips were between Rs. 400-600
Delfrio is famous for its food and lively ambiance. However, Defrio was a huge disappointment for each one us. Their bread basket was the only thing we liked. We were expecting huge chicken strips with fries and scrumptious dips, the way it is usually served there. Alas! Looks like the restaurant has a new chef! The strips were smaller in size with no crunch and no crisp. The bland dish is a definite no!
#3 Bella Vita
The restaurant has recently opened its new branch at Tipu Sultan Road. It might be a cosy place for a chit chat, but the strips were not what we expected. It was smaller in size with the awkward chicken smell. Since we were sitting next to the kitchen, we could see the workers cook with gloves. That was a major turn off!
It was noisy and crowded. That is what you usually expect on weekends. Despite the hustle, the restaurant was quite clean. The chicken strips were huge in size and tasted amazing. Although they really need to work over its presentation, the crunchy and juicy chicken is worth another try.
#1 New York Coffee
Yes, you heard me right. Instead of the usual chicken strips, this one was stuffed with cheese. Although, I would love every strip to have the exact amount of stuffing, they tasted good. Perfect in size, New York Coffee wins this time!
